Graham Watson writes: I last visited Abbey Road in 2008 but before that was there in June 2005 with a friend from Cincinnati USA. I'm happy to see my pix are still posted! In 2008 I was with my wife and good friend Paul New Stewart. Paul is an active musician and had his 50 years in show business tribute concert 2 weeks before these pictures, headlined by Hall of Fame guitarist James Burton, who was of course Elvis's guitarist. I asked Paul if he would like to join us as he had never been to the UK, and he wanted to see the Cavern in Liverpool, and Abbey Road Studios in London, as he admires and performs a lot of Lennon-McCartney tunes. Paul is a former member of The Diamonds in the late 60's. Above it's Paul and myself in front of the Studio entrance................ |
..............This is Paul New Stewart on the crossing actually "Crossing Over" - barefoot! just like the other Paul on that very famous record cover......... |
..........and just to complete the pilgrimage, Paul at the Cavern club in Liverpool. Thanks for your consideration.

and from Mike Kearney: I was in London on a business trip and managed to get a Saturday off to tour around. First stop - Abbey Road. Oct 31, 2010 (Halloween). It was raining and there was nobody to help me, but I had a lightweight tripod which I set up, and then dashed out to the street and back with it, at least a half-dozen times as traffic came by to interrupt the shoot. After about a half-hour I finally got the photo. So here it is. Mike Kearney, Huntsville, Alabama, USA |
Gary Shewan writes: This was taken on Saturday November 13th 2010. From left to right are Robert Kilburn, Mark Hough, Garry Shewan and David Shaw. All in our 40s and big Beatles fans we had some fun getting the photo with a German tourist dodging traffic on our behalf. Rob, Garry and David went to school together in Sunderland and Mark comes from Rochdale. We almost got it right! |
